Responsibilities:
- Operating reel-to-reel cleaning, lamination, and chemical etching lines: Loading rolls of raw material (metal and resist film)
Remotely adding chemicals (acids, bases, surfactants)
Aligning metal products throughout the reel-to-reel processes onto spools
Entering process programs into PLC’s and adjusting process parameters as needed.
- Conducting analytical testing of liquid chemicals: Measuring pH, chemical concentrations, density of etchants, and adjusting chemicals as needed to within specifications.
Periodically sampling and titrating process chemicals in a process lab.
- Monitoring in process quality control: Measuring production parameters, generating control charts.
Adjusting processes to maintain quality and reporting adjustments to engineering teams
Participating in quality teams to improve process parameters and control strategies.
- Process maintenance: Equipment cleaning, pH probe storage and calibration
Desired background:
- Chemistry: The ideal candidate will have some experience handling acids (hydrochloric, nitric, and sulfuric), bases (sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide), and salts (potassium and sodium carbonates).
Experience with titrations, clean room attire, and personal protection equipment.
- Mechanical and instrumentation aptitude: Experience with processing equipment such as pumps, motors, valves, mechanical feeding rollers, liquid sprayers, filters, and dryers is a plus.
Experience with process controls systems such as sensors, transmitters, monitors, and control panels are also a plus.
- Quality systems: Experience with generating, reading, and responding to process control charts.
Recording and reporting process events is highly desired
Experience with work order entry and documentation
- People skills: Our ideal candidate will have experience working with cross functional teams, a great work ethic, and a strong desire to learn and be a part of an exciting and growing business.
- Education: An associate’s engineering degree, or technical training, is preferred.
The current schedule for this position is a Monday through Friday schedule. There are plans for this to become a 12-hour rotating shift in the future.
The ideal candidate will be able to start immediately upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and background check.
