Summary of Duties:
The summary of duties listed below is not exhaustive. Additional duties are dependent upon the needs of the hiring department.
- Developing and implementing a visionary strategy for the reentry program, emphasizing innovative approaches to support successful community reintegration. This involves preparing standard reports and recommendations, and collaborating with the Department of Corrections to organize and lead program activities within correctional facilities across Maryland.
- Maintaining positive relationships with external stakeholders, overseeing budget planning, and resource allocation.
- Training and supervising staff, coordinating program events, and engaging with community organizations to recruit participants.
- Using data-driven insights to enhance program outcomes, ensuring compliance with privacy protocols, and overseeing event execution while maintaining professionalism.
- Monitoring Reconnection Navigators' engagement with assigned cases and occasionally assuming case management responsibilities.
- Assisting with other programming needs of the Office of Equity and Fair Practices that extend beyond Project ENCORE. This could include providing support for various equity and fairness initiatives, collaborating with other teams within the office to ensure cohesive efforts across different programs, and addressing any additional tasks or projects assigned by office leadership to promote equity and fairness within the organization and the community at large.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.
- Two years of experience in community services.
- Experience in creating and maintaining community and partner relationships.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in an urban public library, non-profit, or school setting.
- Experience in project management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Belief in and understanding of the importance of providing library services in an urban setting.
- Knowledge of library organizations, goals, and services.
- Proven experience in project management, especially in a library setting.
- Ability to organize and supervise youth workers and volunteers.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including a willingness to work collaboratively and the ability to create and present information in group settings.
- Ability to resolve problems and conflict with diplomacy and discretion.
