Job Title: Release Manager
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Release Manager to oversee deployment strategies and processes across cross-functional platforms, focusing on Salesforce.com and related services. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of release management tools, processes, and risk mitigation strategies, ensuring seamless functionality delivery to end users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaboration and Coordination:
- Communicate with platform analysts, program managers, and developers to understand demand.
- Provide leadership and manage deployment processes effectively.
- Deployment Management:
- Plan and oversee program cutovers and deployments, adhering to timelines and organizational standards.
- Maintain and validate release practices, ensuring developers follow established guidelines.
- Subject Matter Expertise:
- Act as the leader and specialist for release management tools, supporting and training team members.
- Oversee release calendars, manage software conflicts, and handle CAB requests.
- Risk Mitigation:
- Identify and address risks related to code conflicts and ensure quality code deployment.
- Conduct release reviews and manage code branching and merging.
- Salesforce Platform Knowledge:
- Handle sandbox refreshes, package deployments, and metadata component management.
- Leverage knowledge of branching strategies and conflict resolution techniques.
- Tools and Processes:
- Utilize application lifecycle management tools like Azure DevOps, CI/CD applications (Flosum, Copado), and other related tools.
Requirements:
- 5 years of experience on the Salesforce platform, including release management and Salesforce administration.
- 3 years of experience as a Salesforce Release Manager in an enterprise environment.
- Proficiency in Salesforce release management on a multi-org scale.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce.com best practices and functionality.
- Experience with source control management systems (GitHub) and effective code branching/merging strategies.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools, GIT, VS Code IDEs, and DevOps tools such as Flosum.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum/Iterative Development methodologies.
- Certifications: Salesforce Platform Dev 1 (preferred) and Salesforce.com Admin Certification (required).
