General Summary:
Responsible for planning the manufacturing process and designing and testing tooling equipment within the manufacturing facility. Work is technical, where decisions are made within the limits of general practices and procedures but where supervision is available to handle unusual situations. Occasionally may assign work to a small group of employees. Works frequently with Engineering on projects and NPI.
Primary Functions and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for developing the manufacturing processes and installing tools, equipment, and/or gauges in the manufacturing facilities. Work is of a technical nature, and a high level of judgment is used
- Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project(s)
- Analyzes product designs for the best method of manufacture. Leads design for manufacturability reviews and coordinates manufacturing projects
- Proposes and evaluates the processes for equipment in the facilities
- Directs the design, development, and/or improvement of manufacturing processes in the facilities
- Provides technical support for the facilities’ operations
- Coordinates input from internal/external customers to better understand customer needs and/or perceptions
- Keeps abreast of current product developments and trends in areas of expertise
- Actively identifies new areas for learning and takes advantage of learning opportunities
- Directs the design, development, and/or improvement of the manufacturing process for the facilities
- Supports the purchase and installation of new equipment associated with the manufacturing facilities
- Directs the development and/or improvements of manufacturing processes and equipment in the facilities
- Evaluates expenditures for processes and/or equipment
- Provides technical assistance and training for the facilities’ operations
- Ensure lessons learned are analyzed and documented
- Coordinate activities with other departments and our customers
- Ensure that manufacturing has accurate and detailed information on specifications to produce the part
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Industrial, or equivalent experience
- 10 years of Manufacturing experience in an OEM facility
- Lean Manufacturing experience driving safety, quality, and productivity improvements
- Experience with AutoCAD and Solidworks software to create designs and/or drawings for assigned projects
- Excellent motivational skills and multitasking abilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
Working conditions
- Time will be spent in the office work area and the shop floor, which may include the climate-controlled Electronics Lab, Assembly Area, Fabrication, and/or Test Line
Salary : $105,000 - $125,000
