We’re hiring an experienced and dynamic Business Development Manager to lead efforts in expanding our footprint in the Gulf Coast region, specifically targeting turnkey Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) services for civil and earthwork projects. The ideal candidate will have proven success in business development within the civil or earthwork sectors, a strong network of industry contacts, and a deep understanding of SWPPP compliance and stormwater management solutions. Responsibilities
As Business Development Manager at Ensolum, your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, and they will typically include:
Market Expansion & Lead Generation
- Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities for turnkey SWPPP services within the Gulf Coast region.
- Developing and implementing a business development strategy to drive growth in civil and earthwork sectors.
- Building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders in construction, civil engineering, environmental compliance, and and earthwork industries, including contractors, developers, government agencies, and consultants.
- Leveraging market research to identify new leads, assess client needs, and generate qualified prospects for SWPPP and stormwater management services.
Sales & Client Acquisition
- Leading the full sales process, from prospecting and qualification to closing contracts for SWPPP projects.
- Preparing and presenting detailed proposals and presentations to prospective clients, clearly articulating the value of our turnkey SWPPP solutions.
- Negotiating terms and conditions in collaboration with internal teams to ensure mutually beneficial agreements.
- Establishing long-term relationships with clients to drive repeat business and referrals within the Gulf Coast region.
Relationship Building & Networking
- Attending industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to stay informed on market trends, regulations, and potential opportunities.
- Cultivating relationships with key decision-makers in the public and private sectors, including local municipalities, government bodies, and private developers.
- Representing the company at industry-specific events, ensuring strong brand visibility and positioning in the market.
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support
- Collaborating closely with the project management and operations teams to ensure that client expectations are met and that the delivery of SWPPP services aligns with contractual obligations.
- Working closely with the marketing department to develop promotional materials, case studies, and other content aimed at educating potential clients on the benefits of turnkey SWPPP solutions.
- Partnering with internal teams to provide feedback on market conditions, client needs, and competitive landscape to enhance service offerings and pricing strategies.
Market Intelligence & Reporting
- Monitoring industry trends, local regulatory changes, and competitive activity to adapt business development strategies as needed.
- Providing regular updates on business development activities, pipeline progress, and forecasting to leadership.
- Preparing reports on sales performance, market conditions, and opportunities to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications or professional development in business development or sales are a plus.
Experience:
- A minimum of 5-7 years of business development experience, with a proven track record of sales success in the civil, earthwork, or environmental compliance industries.
- Strong knowledge of SWPPP requirements, stormwater management, and environmental compliance within the construction industry.
- Previous experience selling or managing projects related to civil engineering, earthwork, or environmental services is essential.
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
- A proactive and results-driven approach to sales, with a demonstrated ability to close complex deals.
- Excellent negotiation and presentation skills, including the ability to craft compelling proposals and sales presentations.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong business acumen, market knowledge, and understanding of regulatory frameworks for stormwater management.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to travel extensively throughout the Gulf Coast region to meet clients, attend industry events, and perform site visits.
- Must be comfortable working in both office and field environments.
Compensation:
$25.00/HR monthly SPIF potential bonus opportunities
