Quality Technician - Tractor Manufacturing
Entech Staffing is seeking a meticulous and experienced Quality Technician to join a team located in Pontiac, MI to ensure the quality of their products throughout the manufacturing process. This role is critical to maintaining reputation for excellence and customer satisfaction.
Job Summary :
The Quality Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of quality control tests and inspections on tractor components and assemblies, from raw materials to finished products. This involves using various measuring tools and techniques, documenting findings, and collaborating with production teams to identify and resolve quality issues. A strong understanding of manufacturing processes is essential.
Responsibilities :
Perform incoming inspections of raw materials and purchased components, verifying conformance to specifications and drawings.
Conduct in-process inspections at various stages of tractor assembly, including welding, fabrication, painting, and final assembly.
Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMMs (if applicable) to verify dimensions and tolerances.
Perform functional testing including engine performance, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and transmission operation.
Document inspection results accurately and thoroughly, maintaining detailed quality records and reports.
Identify and report non-conformances, working with production personnel to implement corrective actions and prevent recurrence.
Participate in root cause analysis investigations to identify the source of quality problems and implement effective solutions.
Collaborate with engineers and other team members to develop and improve quality control procedures.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper storage and calibration of measuring equipment.
Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate's degree in a related field preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Quality Technician in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the automotive, agricultural equipment, or heavy machinery industry.
Strong understanding of hydraulics, electrical systems, and related technologies.
Proficiency in using various measuring instruments and techniques, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and potentially CMMs.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and quality control plans.
Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) is a plus.
Pay rate : $18 -20 / hr.
Hours : 6am-2 : 30pm, overtime may occur until 4 : 30pm. some Saturdays.
