Product Development Design Engineer Job Description
We have an exciting contract opportunity for a Product Development Design Engineer to join our team.
Job Scope:
- Manage projects and schedules from prototype through production phases.
- Coordinate tooling, prototypes, first articles, and oversee their evaluation through manufacturing and testing.
- Cross-functional teams including Design, Development, Marketing, and Asia Manufacturing teams.
- Ensure accurate and controlled documentation/specifications for new product designs and manufacturing processes, and transfer engineering drawings to outside suppliers and other stakeholders as needed.
- Apply engineering problem-solving techniques to troubleshoot manufacturing failures.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
- Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering is a plus. Ideal candidate will have 3-8 years of relevant experience working in a manufacturing/engineering environment.
- Experience with injection and compression molding, along with fabrication methods such as casting, forging, forming, and machining.
- Strong experience working with consumer products or handheld devices is a must.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks.
Work Arrangement:
This position requires on-site work only, with no remote or hybrid option available.
Citizenship:
Candidates must be US Citizens or Green Card Holders.
