Software Quality Assurance Engineer
65-70/HR
The SQA engineer will be responsible to institute best practice in software quality assurance including the recommendation of support infrastructure such as automated test tools, test platforms and overall software life cycle process improvements. He or She will be versed in the latest SQA techniques for assuring a quality software deliverable.
Responsibilities Include:
- Work closely with the software product manager and the software staff to ensure test considerations are developed in the early phases of a project.
- Attend software design reviews and provide critical feedback as well as proactive planning to support the test process.
- Provide recommendations to the software product manager for tools, test techniques and processes for the overall improvement of the quality of the software component.
- Responsible for final evaluation of all software content for computed tomography (CT) based security products. Conducts appropriate testing for software products.
Qualifications:
- Four-year undergraduate degree in computer science or engineering or other relevant technical degree
- A minimum of eight years of experience in software quality assurance working on complex real-time software control systems in support of highly automated electromechanical systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced and changing environments
- Proven experience with a successful software components and products
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Previous knowledge of digital imaging systems is a strong plus
The candidate must have demonstrated experience in software quality support of leading-edge technologies in real time control systems, object-oriented design, high speed communication methodologies, internet connectivity and distributed computing.
Significant experience with a variety of computing platforms, source code control tools, integrated development environments and sensors/instrumentation.
Specific knowledge of the following is a plus; Linux, Python, My-SQL, C/C , Java, Qt, Squish, TCP/IP, Accurev, JAMA and Jira.
