Position Summary
This position manages Bishop State Community College’s courses through their life cycle and drives the activities associated with the development, evaluation, assessment, and internal operations of academic programs, courses, and/or product lines. Job Duties to include but not limited to faculty support, assisting with recording and conferencing software and video editing for instructional programs and professional development for all departments, building and maintaining LMS course templates and syllabus templates, facilitating training for faculty and staff. Some office duties as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Have demonstrated expertise in the subject area (distance education, learning management system, and computer knowledge).
- An understanding of instructional design principles and experience with course design, development, implementation, and evaluation.
- The ability to effectively communicate and conduct data analysis, present research findings, projects, and recommendations.
- Familiarity with Quality Matters, Online Learning Consortium and similar online learning rubrics.
- Familiarity with Universal Design and other accessibility principles to ensure course content is accessible to all learners.
- Demonstrated competence in working with learning management systems, such as Canvas.
- Knowledge of Bloom's taxonomy, instructional design models, adult learning principles, and graphic design.
- Proven ability to work effectively and communicate with subject matter experts, peers, users and media developers.
- A PC/MAC knowledge base with Microsoft Office proficiency and other pc-based programs.
- Exceptional customer service capability.
- Practical oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to use the internet, email, and computer software.
- Ability to multitask and work independently and in a team environment.
- Documented expertise with audio and video recording and editing.
- Documented expertise with creating reports in Excel, Word, and/or other similar software products
- Understanding of the broad range of students' abilities in an open admissions college and the ability to accommodate varied learning styles.
- Ability to deal effectively with diverse students, other employees, and the public.
- Ability to produce training materials in multiple modalities.
- Commitment to all students, including those of diverse ages, cultures, and ethnic backgrounds.
- An understanding of and commitment to the philosophy and mission of the Alabama Community College System (ACCS).
- Ability to use emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence.
- And other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean of Instruction, Vice President of Instructional Services, and/or the President.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Technology, Instructional Design, or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university, OR substantial experience in online course design
- One (1) year of demonstrated experience using an LMS
- One (1) year of experience aligning student learning outcomes with curriculum, course content, materials, and evaluation
- Work experience in a college setting

Work is generally performed in an office environment with frequent interruptions and irregularities in the work schedule. Learned physical skill is required for keyboarding. Frequent walking, standing, or sitting may be required. Working hours may vary and occasional evening or weekend work is required. No special coordination beyond that used for normal mobility and handling of everyday objects and materials is needed to perform the job satisfactorily.
