Purchasing Coordinator - Part Time

The Purchasing Coordinator - Part Time is responsible for implementing purchasing daily activities; responding to a range of inquiries regarding processes or bid status; and achieving department objectives and goals within budget.

Essential functions may include, but are not limited to :

• Review requisitions and lists of items required. Determine or verify availability, price, terms, and delivery for defined equipment, parts, supplies, and materials, obtaining information from approved vendors. Determine efficiency of purchasing consumables for remote locations and make related recommendations.
• Enter data to prepare computerized purchase order based on information provided in written or verbal requisitions and lists and submit for authorization.
• Place orders, document orders on outstanding purchase order listing and inventory purchase list as appropriate, and file purchase orders in accordance with procedures.
• Track the status of orders, following up with vendors and shippers as required.
• Receive purchased items, noting on receiving log. Compare packing lists to purchase orders to confirm receipt of appropriate items and enter receipts to computer system. Note back orders, short shipments, and other irregularities and communicate with vendor as required to resolve related problems. Record serial numbers, copy packing slips, and distribute received goods as appropriate.
• Process material returns. Gather required information and contact vendor for return authorization, restocking fees, and other related information. Complete shipping information to arrange for return and document in computer system and files.
• Receive review, and file vendor literature, copy and distribute appropriate items, and maintain related files. Conduct research to identify new vendors as requested.
• Work with accounts payable to facilitate prepayments / deposits required on orders and enhance vendor relationships.
• Review Sales and Engineering orders and make vendor recommendations for more economical purchases.
• Assist accounts payable on resolving order discrepancies / questions on Inventory, Sales, and Engineering purchase orders.
• Research new vendors and dealer agreements.

Base Salary Range : $17.95 / hr - $26.61 / hr. This represents the low and high end of the company's base salary range for this position. Actual base salary range may vary based on various factors, including but not limited to experience.
