A DAY IN THE LIFE
Enthalpy Analytical, is part of the larger organization, Montrose Environmental Group, is comprised of over 9 laboratories servicing air, water, soil, and toxicology testing. Regulations drive the need for our services, but our unique capabilities allow us to add value to clients beyond environmental compliance.
As a key member of the Durham team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
  • Preparation of sample for metals analysis using acid digestion techniques.
  • Help with keeping a clean and orderly laboratory.
  • Performing refractive index analysis using a microscope.
  • Keeping track of consumable inventory.
  • Help with the archiving of analyzed samples.
  • Preparation of samples for analysis of all Particulate methods.
  • Preparation of filters and reagents for in-house lab use and/or shipment.
  • Sample extractions, evaporations, titrations, and any other techniques as directed by EPA methods or internal SOPs.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs comfortably.
  • Available to work paid overtime or weekend work occasionally.
  • Comply with Enthalpy’s Quality Assurance Program and other policies
  • Comply with Enthalpy’s Health and Safety Plan
  • Other duties as assigned by the Group Leader or Lab Director
YOUR EXPERTISE & SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Associates degree or higher in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or related field preferred
PREFFERED SKILLS
  • Prior Laboratory experience preferred but not required as this is an entry level position
  • Basic understanding of laboratory equipment such as balances, pipettes, and microscopes.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft suite of software.
  • The desire to learn new techniques and not afraid to ask questions.
  • An effective communicator since the right candidate would be working within two departments.
  • Effective documentation, timeliness, and throughput must meet the standard of the laboratory.
