Amarr, a part of ASSA ABLOY – the global leader in opening solutions, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Sr. Network and Systems Engineer to join our team and this could be the position for you.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the network and systems infrastructure across our company. This role requires a deep understanding of network and systems engineering and administration. The position also works with cross-functional teams to ensure high system availability along with seamless integration and continuous improvement of IT infrastructure.
In this position you will :
- Oversee the operation and monitoring of IT systems and networks, including system administration and local backup solutions, ensuring high availability and resiliency.
- Manage VMware and cloud environments, creating redundant failovers and high availability for IT solutions whenever possible.
- Automate tasks where appropriate, using scripting and IaC tools to manage assets, managing and resolving any system drift.
- Develop, enhance, and extend monitoring platforms to enable proactive troubleshooting and resolution.
- Perform daily monitoring of systems and system integration, analyzing and solving indicated and reported issues.
- Execute security vulnerability remediation, monitor compliance, and document procedures.
- Collaborate closely with divisional security and network teams to implement best practices, knowledge sharing, and governance.
- Maintain detailed blueprints that outline the network's architecture and layout, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and resiliency.
- Support and architect disaster recovery plans, participating in bi-annual disaster recovery testing.
- Manage related supplier and vendor relationships including implementing support programs where appropriate and monitoring SLAs.
- Maintain system updates and patches of operating systems, appliances, and network equipment.
- Provide critical off-hours support for system down or issues related to manufacturing stoppages.
