About the role
The Human Resources Generalist performs HR-related duties at a professional level across various functional areas, including compensation and benefits administration, employee relations, retention, and compliance. This role works closely with the CEO, the Personnel Committee of the Board of Directors, and key team members to implement HR best practices and provide technical assistance to supervisory personnel.
What you"ll do
Human Resources Consultation & Service Delivery Provide technical guidance to managers and employees on HR matters, including employee relations, retention strategies, safety, and compliance.Ensure HR service delivery is confidential, quality-driven, and cost-effective.Stay informed on federal and state employment laws and implement necessary policy changes. Compensation & Benefits Administration Oversee benefits enrollment, communication, and claims resolution.Administer the compensation program to ensure fair and equitable pay structures.Guide and train managers on compensation practices and ensure compliance with wage and hour regulations. Employee Relations & Compliance Conduct investigations, maintain records, and handle grievances according to company policies.Manage exit interviews, analyze data, and address concerns.Represent the organization in legal proceedings involving unemployment, workers' compensation, PHRC / EEOC, or other employment matters. Employee Retention & Engagement Develop and implement employee recognition and motivation programs.Conduct surveys and analyze data to assess retention needs.Support employees with career pathing and internal job application processes. HR Operations & Record Keeping Maintain HR records in compliance with federal, state, and company policies.Administer personnel policies and procedures.Track and analyze HR data such as turnover and position vacancy rates.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred.Previous HR experience required.Strong knowledge of employment law, benefits administration, and HR best practices.Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism and discretion.Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and HRIS systems.Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally as needed.
