Responsibilities

  • Lead Operations Excellence: Oversee shipping and receiving functions, ensuring accurate material receipt, including visual inspection, lot tracking, and putaway to designated warehouse locations, while maintaining lab stocking efficiency.
  • Optimize for Growth: Build, manage, and continuously refine scalable processes for seamless execution across operations.
  • Inventory Management & Accuracy: Develop and maintain robust cycle count and reconciliation programs, ensuring inventory accuracy and alignment with FEFO and FIFO principles.
  • Streamline Stockroom Operations: Take ownership of stockroom organization, ensuring materials are properly stocked and easily accessible for efficient putaway, picking, and shipping.
  • Daily Receipt & Shipment Accuracy: Ensure all receipts and shipments are handled and completed daily, promptly reporting any discrepancies, holds, or shortages to the appropriate personnel (e.g., buyer, customer service, operations leader).
  • Prevent Stock Shortages: Monitor stock levels of all lab items, ensuring daily/weekly fulfillment needs are met with no shortages in assigned labs.
  • Carrier Relationship Management: Manage relationships with onsite carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, DHL, USPS) to ensure smooth shipping and receiving operations.
  • Maintain Safety & Cleanliness: Foster a clean, safe, and compliant workplace by adhering to all warehouse and company policies.
  • Contribute Beyond Expectations: Be ready to perform additional tasks and special assignments as directed by your manager, contributing to the broader success of the team.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in receiving, stocking, and inventory management; experience with reagents, lot tracking, and FEFO/FIFO methodologies is highly preferred.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Proven ability to lead and work collaboratively across functions, excelling both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Process Development: Demonstrated experience in creating and refining shipping, receiving, and cycle counting processes for operational efficiency.
  • Problem-Solving & Agility: Adaptable and resourceful, with a knack for autonomous decision-making and effective problem resolution.
  • Customer Focus: A customer service mindset with a genuine passion for delivering exceptional support and solutions.
  • Organizational Excellence: Strong organizational abilities complemented by clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Multi-Tasking Expertise: Capability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously while maintaining keen attention to detail.
  • Schedule Commitment: Availability to work a consistent weekday schedule (8:00 AM–5:00 PM) to align with the main shipping/receiving hours at our Palo Alto office.
