Job Description

Harsco Rail is seeking a Director of Business Systems for our Columbia, SC facility.

Summary and Primary Responsibilities:

The Director, Business Systems is responsible for planning and managing the Infor LN business application systems environment, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of ERP Systems and related subsystems. Working across functions with team members at all levels in the organization, the Director will ensure that application system solutions to business requirements, and the technical, organizational and administrative processes that support them, are efficient, cost effective, and reliable.

• Achieve the software deployment within schedule and budget while creating minimal customer disruption. Plan, implement, and control the overall ERP project.
• Re-engineer current business functions and processes to optimize daily operations.
• Plan and execute the implementation and change management process.
• Responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects. Take projects from original concept through final implementation.
• Responsible for managing user training and communication
• Provide communication as the primary liaison with senior leadership, partners across the business, and the sites involved on the status of the deployment process.
• Evaluate and implement improved procedures including order check controls to ensure protection of company assets
• Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

• B.A.
• 5 years in materials management for a multi-site manufacturing company including inventory management, production control, production planning, and shop floor control.

Preferred Qualifications:

• MBA
• Project management of business ERP system deployment / conversion.
• CPM or CPIM
• Lean / Six Sigma certification
• Global experience
• Interpersonal Skills
• Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, formally and informally, with all levels of the organization.
• Able to influence others to achieve goals in a matrix organization.
• Strong negotiation, presentation, and facilitation skills.

Technical Skills:

• Knowledge of LN and other business systems
• Preparation, justification, and administration of budgets.
