Harsco Rail is seeking a  Sales Manager for safety products. This will be a field position.

Responsible for the daytoday account management of our customers in a specific product class : Safety Product Technology Transit Safety and Rail Measurement Products and Solutions promoting and supporting products and services.

  • Assist with the preparation of quotations covering equipment parts and services sales for customers.
  • Manage team activities in CRM
  • Regular communication (verbal and written) with our internal and external customers.
  • Participate strategic planning.
  • Provide customer information to engineering internal sales and management that will assist in making good business decisions.
  • Provide quick and accurate responses to inquiries and problems from our customers.
  • Review customer orders for accuracy.
  • Market and sell equipment services parts and rental equipment in assigned territory.
  • Seek out new business opportunities for Harsco Rail.
  • Market and sell value over price.
  • Forecasting future sales and opportunities in assigned territory.
  • Develop a regional strategic plan for sales services and marketing.
  • Responsible for regional budget development and forecasting.
  • Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications : Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Business
  • 3 years of sales channel development and management experience
  • In lieu of 4year degree (BA / BS); 5 years of Transit or Rail Industry sales and / or leadership experience
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Accounting or Engineering
  • 10 years plus of Bus or Transit sales / leadership experience
  • Ability to effectively plan and organize
  • Ability to travel 75% or more
  • Interpersonal Skills

  • Ability to read analyze and interpret technical data
  • Ability to write in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
  • Ability to effectively coach others.

  • The ability to predictably and regularly attend work and to be punctual
  • The ability to read and understand documents and drawings
  • The ability to work cooperatively with others
  • The ability to deal politely and professionally with customers and / or coworkers
