This internship opportunity is part of our Latino Heritage Internship Program (LHIP), designed to engage undergraduates and recent graduates in leadership training and cultural resource management. As a Visual Information Specialist intern, you will contribute to expanding the social media presence, fostering community engagement, and creating visual materials for Blackwell School National Historic Site.
About the Role
The intern will work under the Fort Davis National Historic Site Interpretation Division to create content for the newly established BLSC. You will serve as a visual information specialist, supporting public outreach through multimedia projects. Duties include building new components of the official park website, assisting in capturing video/photos for park events or programs, updating park social media sites, and engaging in community outreach.

To be successful in this role, you should possess excellent digital media skills, including proficiency in social media platforms and photo/video editing software. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. A degree in a relevant field, such as history, education, or communications, is preferred. Experience in public history, museum work, archives, and scholarly applications is also valued.
