The EH&S Facility Lead will be responsible for implementing and monitoring workplace safety programs, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and company safety regulations. This role is critical in maintaining a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments in manufacturing and production areas.
- Manage, design, implement and coordinate safety plan.
- Assist in developing and enforcing safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Investigate workplace incidents, document findings, and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other safety regulations.
- Maintain and inspect safety equipment, including PPE, fire prevention systems, and emergency response tools.
- Provide safety training and education to employees at all levels.
- Assist with hazard communication programs, including SDS management and chemical safety.
- Collaborate with management and employees to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
- Prepare and maintain safety records, reports, and documentation.
- Schedule annual testing for safety/health programs.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or related field preferred.
- Experience: 2 years of experience in industrial safety, preferably in a steel or manufacturing environment.
- CSP or CIH preferred.
- OSHA 500/501 Certification preferred.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards, safety best practices, and industrial hygiene.
- 5 years of relevant work experience
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify workplace hazards.
- Excellent communication and training skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation and reporting.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
