The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description Assist DEC staff with the Critter Cam Project, using trail cameras to assess occupancy and abundance of a variety of wildlife species across DEC Region 4. Incumbent will be responsible for securing landowner permissions, deploying cameras, conducting routine site checks, and camera collection. Desired skills: Incumbent should be capable of working independently in the field in all weather conditions, carrying up to 50 lbs, navigating using GPS, using GIS, following a protocol for camera deployment and monitoring, organizing data, and communicating with the public. Valid driver’s license required. Incumbent may assist with other regional wildlife projects as needed.
