What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fish and Wildlife Technician 1 position at Environmental Conservation, Department of?
The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description Assist Regional Biologists and Technicians with colonial waterbird, grassland bird, and raptor surveys, and other wildlife management work. This includes conducting field surveys for grassland birds by sight and sound, mapping habitat, accessing colonial waterbird nest islands by boat, and conducting monitoring using trail cameras and binoculars. Will also assist with predator and vegetation control on nest islands. Assist with all aspects of Wildlife work, primarily in the northern part of Region 9, but may travel throughout Region 9 to assist with wildlife work including big game harvest data collection, Chronic Wasting Disease monitoring, waterfowl banding, wildlife health monitoring, and responding to public inquiries via phone, email, and at outreach events. Candidate will be required to work in rough terrain, all weather conditions, and carry field equipment. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule when needed to accommodate field work. Good communication, organizational, and computer skills are essential.
