What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Compliance Specialist position at Environmental Operations, Inc.?
Environmental Operations, Inc. (EOI) is looking for a Safety Services Technician whom would be responsible for completing tasks associated with safety compliance consulting with both external clients and internal projects. The primary focus of the safety services technician will be to gain an understanding of safety regulations as it applies to industrial facilities clients and apply that knowledge to help our clients and internal service providing teams with the knowledge to conduct their jobs safely. This position has tremendous opportunities for growth and professional advancement. This position would report directly to the Senior Director of Compliance and Industrial Hygiene Services.
Responsibilities:
· Learn environmental safety regulations as it applies to both client facilities and internal service providing teams.
· Developing Safety compliance plans for clients (LOTO/confined space etc.);
· Managing project timelines and resources;
· Conducting site visits at client facilities and EOI jobsite to ensure the client and internal teams meet current and future regulations;
· Completing regulatory reporting requirements;
· Analyzing results from testing and compiling recommendations for services required to meet compliance standards;
· Working with clients and internal staff to ensure timelines are met;
· Coordination with labs for obtaining correct sampling media;
· Scheduling and coordination of field work with client;
· Communicating with regulatory agencies as needed;
· Staying up to date on changes to regulatory requirements or reporting requirements;
· Developing and maintaining client relationships.
· Attending department and client meetings;
· Assist Senior Managers with various tasks upon request;
· Assist other departments as needed.
Qualifications:
The following education, skills and experience are required for this role:
· Bachelor’s degree in safety, or related, required;
· Demonstration of a good work ethic and an ability to learn.
· Familiarity with federal and state reporting procedures and systems, preferred;
· Ability to travel locally to various work sites in designated multi-state territory ( up to 35%);
· Flexible work schedule subject to project scope.
Environment
This position works in an air-conditioned, smoke-free, business environment approximately 50% of the time. The remaining portion of the time is spent at indoor and outdoor client facilities. These client sites may include exposure to a variety of climate and environmental conditions. This position may require overnight travel based on the client projects and industry conferences.
