POSITION AVAILABLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for ensuring that the day-to-day supply chain business results are achieved. This role combines working directly with customers to ensure proper delivery of service parts as well as placing purchase orders to maintain an adequate inventory for the production floor. The position provides backup and support to Purchasing and Shipping/Receiving when needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Order Entry
- Receive incoming service parts calls or emails from customers and/or Regional Sales Managers.
- Enter Sales Orders and generate Pick Slips for Shipping.
- Generate BOL and schedule LTL shipments.
- Follow-up on open Sales Orders to ensure Superior Customer Service.
- Buyer Activities
- Review purchase suggestions and place purchase orders daily.
- Contact suppliers to make sure their PO’s will arrive by the dates they provided.
- Follow-up weekly with suppliers that have past due orders and update Epicor with the results.
- Review change suggestions for expedites and/or cancellations weekly.
- Notify Planner/Supply Chain Manager if there is going to be a shortage.
- Assess and manage inventory levels to ensure continuity of supply.
- Update ERP system (Epicor) to make sure stock levels are optimum.
- Assist, support, and provide backup coverage for Supply Chain team members.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2 years related purchasing, production planning, or inventory experience.
- Manufacturing background with MRP experience (Epicor preferred).
- Experience interacting/communicating with customers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, detailed, well organized and a team player.
- Multitasking and prioritizing capabilities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
