Job Description :
The Senior Manager, Manufacturing & Operations is responsible for manufacturing operations. The individual will coordinate operations within the plant to make sure work is being done effectively, create goals for plant production, and properly train staff, while motivating them. The qualified candidate is accountable to deliver product quality, on-time delivery while reducing manufacturing costs utilizing Lean Manufacturing and the Envista Business System processes. This position will directly supervise operations teams and guide / influence matrixed operations teams in select global geographies.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Plan, organize and direct the manufacturing and maintenance operations.
- Implement plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of labor, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital.
- Manage action plans (daily, weekly, monthly) for implementation, sustainment, and counter measures of operations KPIs and metrics.
- Assure attainment of business objectives and productions schedules while ensuring product standards that will exceed our customers' expectations.
- Remain compliant within regulatory and quality targets for year over year results.
- Champion kaizen activities for operations sites.
- Utilize Lean Concepts such as : Standard Work, 5S, Kanban, SMED, DMP, VRK and other tools to create and maintain a mindset of continuous improvement.
- Work within the company's corporate quality system and ISO / FDA regulations to remain compliant.
- Develop and manage the plan for preventative maintenance of production equipment.
- Act as liaison among different functions (HR, Finance, Customer Care, Quality, Materials, Marketing, IT) for operations-related issues.
- Manage spending against budget and in relation to changes in production volume.
- Setting performance standards, conducting regular evaluations, and providing feedback to help employees grow and improve.
- Identifying skill gaps and organizing training programs to enhance employees' abilities and career growth.
- Creating a positive work environment that motivates employees and fosters a sense of belonging and commitment.
- Preparing for future leadership needs by identifying and developing potential leaders within the organization.
- Aligning talent management practices with the overall business strategy to support organizational goals and objectives.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in real time and exercise judgment in high-paced, high-stakes environment.
- Managerial courage to make tough decisions without being overly sensitive (thick skinned), be able to effectively play catch ball (back and forth discussions or ideation) and think on his / her feet.
- Operate with high ethics and integrity and is non-political.
