Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager:
Research laboratory seeking candidate to work with leadership to play crucial role in ensuring the safety and health of employees while also ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. The candidate should have experience working in a medical or research setting with laboratory subjects. Occupational hazards may include bloodborne pathogens, chemical exposure, radiation exposure. Specifically, this position will:
1. Develop and Implement Safety Programs: Create and enforce health and safety plans, policies, and procedures to establish a safe work environment
2. Conduct Safety Inspections: Regularly inspect facilities and practices to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
3. Risk Assessment: Identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks
4. Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents, identify their causes, and recommend solutions
5. Training and Education: Conduct safety training programs for employees to promote a culture of safety
6. Regulatory Compliance: Keep abreast of new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all relevant health and safety regulations
7. Emergency Response: Lead emergency response activities when required
8. Ensure compliance with local environmental regulations
