Senior Benefits Specialist
Location: On-site | Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
Reports to: Director of Operations
Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Benefits Specialist to join our team! In this role, you will serve as a vital liaison between clients and internal teams, supporting the implementation and administration of employee benefit programs. You'll guide clients and their employees through benefit plan selection, enrollment, compliance, and issue resolution. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of employee benefits programs.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative:
- Maintain accurate records in Salesforce and respond promptly to communications.
- Participate in internal and external meetings, delivering timely and accurate reports.
- Assist with onboarding new clients and completing year-end processes.
Client Benefits Administration:
- Advise clients on benefit plan options, administration, and compliance (e.g., health insurance, retirement plans, dental/vision, etc.).
Benefits Enrollment & Communication:
- Manage enrollment periods, including system setup and employee communication.
- Ensure smooth transitions during open enrollment and address employee questions.
Claims & Issue Resolution:
- Act as a liaison between clients and insurance carriers/vendors to resolve benefits-related issues efficiently.
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight:
- Stay current on federal, state, and local regulations (ACA, COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA).
- Ensure clients remain compliant with all reporting requirements (e.g., 1095/1094 filings).
COBRA & 401(k) Administration:
- Manage COBRA notifications and support the administration of 401(k) enrollment.
Financial:
- Assist with benefits audits and help identify cost-effective solutions for clients.
Customer Service:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for benefits-related client communications.
- Conduct semi-annual client visits to assess satisfaction and support open enrollment efforts.
Sales Support:
- Partner with Business Consultants during prospective client meetings to provide benefits-related insights.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; 3–5 years of Human Resources experience, including multi-state compliance.
- Exceptional customer service skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Prism HR, Salesforce, and time/attendance systems.
- Strong knowledge of employee benefits (e.g., health insurance, retirement, wellness programs).
- Bilingual in Spanish.
-Experience with Collective Bargaining Agreements is a plus.
Working Conditions:
- On-site position with a Monday–Friday schedule (8:30 AM – 5:30 PM).
- Occasional travel may be required with management approval.
- Business casual work environment.
