- Preparation and submission of SEC filings (Form 10-Q, Form 10-K, Form 8-K,etc.), earnings releases, and internal reporting packages
- Technical accounting research (U.S. GAAP and SEC Regulations) and preparation of technical memorandums
- Review contracts to determine proper accounting treatment
- Identify and implement necessary updates in financial reporting practices to adapt to evolving business operations and updates in technology
- Collaborate with Investor Relations answering questions/providing information
- Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley is maintained for responsible areas
- Preparation of retirement plan financial statements, FERC filings, and filings with governmental agencies
- External audit coordination and maintaining consistent, effective communication with the external audit team
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting - Master's degree preferred (CPA designation required).
- Managerial experience required.
- 8 years of total experience in accounting with an emphasis on SEC reporting.
- 4 years of experience in public accounting preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and SEC disclosure requirements for public companies.
- Keen attention to detail and strong ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
- A high sense of urgency, enthusiasm, strong initiative, and the ability to juggle multiple projects.
- Deep understanding of ASC 932 and ASC 842.
- Ability to perform technical accounting research and documentation.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with a proven track record of successful teamwork, leadership, and independent project management.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with Hyperion and Workiva.
- Oil and Gas experience strongly preferred.
Position will be filled commensurate with experience.
