Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and testing of power electronic systems for aerospace applications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements
- Design analog circuits for high-performance applications, including power supplies, filters, voltage regulation, and signal conditioning circuits
- Oversee and contribute to the design and layout of complex printed circuit boards (PCBs), ensuring electrical performance, manufacturability, and reliability
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, software, and systems engineers, to integrate electrical systems into larger aerospace platforms
- Perform detailed simulations, analysis, and validation of electrical circuits and systems to ensure functionality and safety
- Lead failure analysis, root cause investigations, and troubleshooting of electrical and electronic systems in both laboratory and flight test environments
- Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and support in the review and improvement of engineering processes and methodologies
- Contribute to the preparation of technical documentation, including circuit designs, specifications, and test reports, ensuring clarity and accuracy for both internal stakeholders and regulatory agencies
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in power electronics, analog design techniques, and aerospace electrical systems
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering,related field, or equivalent
- 10 years of hands-on experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on power electronics, analog circuit design, and PCB layout
- Extensive experience with PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence, or equivalent – Altium Designer is Preferred) and familiarity with high-speed, high-frequency design considerations
- Proven expertise in designing and analyzing power electronics systems (e.g., converters, inverters, power supplies) for aerospace or similar high-reliability industries
- Strong proficiency in analog circuit design and analysis, including but not limited to amplifiers, filters, and regulators
- In-depth understanding of aerospace industry standards, electrical safety protocols, and regulatory requirements (e.g., MIL-STD, DO-160, etc.)
- Experience with simulation and modeling tools (e.g., PSpice, LTSpice, MATLAB, Simulink) for circuit analysis and performance validation
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex electrical issues in a systematic manner
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- A collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- The anticipated compensation for this position is $135,000-$175,000/yr, depending on previous experience
