Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and testing of power electronics circuits for aerospace applications, including converters, inverters, and power management systems
- Design and optimize analog circuits, including amplifiers, filters, and signal conditioning circuits for high-performance applications
- Develop and design PCB layouts for complex, high-density circuits, focusing on EMI/EMC, thermal management, and manufacturability
- Perform detailed simulations and analysis of power electronics and analog circuits to ensure performance meets design specifications
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, software, and systems engineers, to integrate electrical systems into larger aerospace platforms
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical system issues, including hardware failures, design flaws, and component selection challenges
- Ensure that designs meet relevant aerospace and safety standards, such as DO-160/MIL-STD-461 and DO-178/DO-254
- Contribute to the development of engineering documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and technical reports
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and team members
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in aerospace technology, power electronics, and analog design
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, related field, or equivalent
- 10 years of professional experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on power electronics, analog circuit design, and PCB layout
- Proven experience in the design, simulation, and testing of power electronics circuits and systems, including DC-DC converters, power inverters, and motor control systems
- Extensive experience with analog circuit design, including signal processing, amplifiers, and low-noise designs
- Strong proficiency in PCB design and layout tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence, or Eagle – Altium Designer preferred) and experience in designing high-performance PCBs for power conversion applications
- Solid understanding of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), thermal management, and signal integrity considerations in aerospace applications
- Experience with aerospace standards and regulations (e.g., DO-160/MIL-STD-461 and DO-178/DO-254)
- Ability to perform circuit simulations using tools such as PSpice, LTSpice, MATLAB, or similar software
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to travel for work and field testing as required
- The anticipated compensation for this position is $135,000-$175,000/yr, depending on previous experience
