Overall Summary:
We are a fast-paced, high growth company seeking an experienced and strategic Director, Human Resources to lead our team of Human Resources Business Partners (HRBPs). This role is key in scaling our people strategy, partnering with business leaders, and ensuring alignment between talent initiatives and company goals. The HR Director will manage and mentor HRBPs to deliver proactive, impactful HR support across the organization.
This position reports directly to the CHRO and requires strong human resources expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to develop HRBPs to deliver proactive, business-focused HR support. You will provide guidance on HR policies, handle employee issues, advise on organizational design, and work to maintain a positive and productive work environment during high growth.
Location: On-site in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with limited travel as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of HR Business Partners supporting various departments and functions while rapidly scaling the company.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing strategic guidance on organizational design, talent development, recruitment, change management, and employee & labor relations.
- Develop and implement HR Strategies that align with business goals and drive organizational success.
- Partner with Centers of Excellence (COE) leaders (including HRIS, Benefits, Learning and Development, and Talent Acquisition) to drive HR strategies and efforts in a collaborative manner
- Drive continuous improvement in HR processes, policies, and programs to enhance efficiency.
- Oversee workforce planning efforts, ensuring alignment with business needs and future growth.
- Collaborate with leadership and COE partners on talent management initiatives, including succession planning, leadership development, and employee retention strategies.
- Champion a positive workplace culture that fosters employee engagement and high performance.
- Assist in administering collective bargaining agreements (CBAs).
- Oversee, investigate and resolve workplace issues, disciplinary actions, and workplace disputes, along with Human Resources Business Partners (HRBPs), Legal and leadership.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, including the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA), Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
- Provide proactive guidance to management on labor law, contract interpretation, conflict resolution, and workplace policies, in partnership with internal Legal team.
- Conduct training for HR teams and leadership on labor relations best practices. Partner directly with Learning team leadership to develop ongoing training.
- Analyze labor market trends to make recommendations for company policies and procedures.
- Educate employees and leadership on labor law, contract interpretation, grievance handling, and workplace policies.
- Support the evolution of HR processes and systems to meet the demands of a growing, dynamic organization.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, labor relations, business administration, or related discipline required. Master’s or above degree(s) preferred.
- Ten (10 ) or more years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience managing and developing HRBP teams.
- Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on driving business impact through HR initiatives.

Working Conditions:
This position requires occasional travel for labor negotiations, meetings, or training. The work environment includes a combination of office settings and interactions with employees in various work locations.
Office Environment – must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time and occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figure; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. May be required to exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
