Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Residential Support Staff to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing support and care to individuals with substance use disorders in a residential setting. This position requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our residents through daily assistance and engagement.
Duties
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Monitor clients throughout the night, ensuring client safety (dependent upon shift hours).
- Support individuals in developing life skills and promote independence in a home-like environment.
- Drive residents to appointments, community outings, and recreational activities as needed.
- Monitor and document vital signs and health changes and issue medications at set times, ensuring proper communication with healthcare professionals.
- Provide structure and support to residents, fostering a positive living atmosphere.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment by adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Participate in training sessions related to first aid, home community care, and best practices for working with individuals with SUD.
Requirements
- Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders is preferred.
- Ability to assist residents with 12-step work, healthy coping mechanisms, and emotional support as needed.
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and vital sign monitoring is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- A valid driver's license is required for transportation responsibilities.
- CPR/First aid certification is required upon hire.
- Experience working with EHR software is preferred.
- A compassionate attitude towards helping others and a commitment to providing high-quality care.
- A minimum of one year of continuous sobriety is required.
