Title: Applications Engineer – Metals
Reports to: Applications Manager – Metals
Location: Pflugerville, TX
Do you have a passion for additive manufacturing? Would you like to test and implement cutting-edge AM technologies? As a member of the Additive Minds Team, you would advise and support EOS customers in the successful implementation of additive manufacturing technologies into their organization.
Your Mission:
- Act as the metal laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) additive manufacturing subject matter expert in internal and external development projects to solve complex manufacturing problems across a wide variety of industries.
- Meet with EOS customers to understand their AM adoption needs. Define the scope, create a plan, and execute the engineering work required to produce functionally tested AM parts that enable their adoption and production.
- Learn and utilize deep process knowledge to print a wide variety of geometry types in a wide variety of materials.
- Work as a hands-on member of our AM facility to ensure the delivery of high-quality and on-time parts for your own projects.
- When needed, operate EOS metals equipment and maintain and improve our internal manufacturing processes. Define and oversee post processing operations on additive parts such as de-powdering, heat treatment, wire EDM cuts, and machining operations.
- Represent EOS at customer visits, trade shows, and conferences.
Your Talents:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field (e.g. mechanical, aerospace, manufacturing, materials engineering) or significant familiarity and work experience with metal LPBF.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in metal LPBF additive manufacturing.
- Sound knowledge and business application of project management practices, techniques, and core principles. PMP certification a plus.
- Very comfortable with the hands-on skills required in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift 25lbs regularly, wear a respirator, and be on your feet throughout the day.
- Familiarity with machining and other conventional manufacturing processes.
- Software skills including CAD modeling, LPBF support generation (Magics, 3DXpert), FEA, and CAM.
- Ability to work on ITAR and export-controlled projects.
- Fluent written and spoken English language skills.
- Willingness to travel on occasion, for business purposes.

Salary : $90,000 - $100,000
