This position is responsible for packaging aggregate products for customer orders utilizing the small packaging and bulk bag packaging systems ensuring quality and production standards are met. In addition, the packaging operator must keep the machinery and general area clean in in safe operating condition
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Operate, trouble shoot/adjust small packaging system (Hamer, Pasco, Wulftec) to package aggregate products
- Load plastic sheeting, inspect/clean/adjust cutters, Teflon, heat sealers and conveyors, adjust scale parameters and pallet parameters per order requirements
- Inspect, clean, troubleshoot and adjust photo eyes, sensors, pallet and bag layer configurations, glue applicator and cardboard as required
- Inspect, clean, trouble shoot, and adjust stretch wrapper machine, top sheet, and other various equipment as required for different bag and pallet configurations
- Operate bulk packaging systems to package aggregate products
- Inspect, clean, trouble shoot, and adjust components to complete bulk packaging product requirements
- General plant cleanup, including but not limited to cleaning with broom, squeegee, vacuum, shovel.
- Picking up trash, cutting/pulling weeds, painting, filing paperwork, assisting with quality related testing, calibrations, monitoring and inspections.
- Operating a forklift for maintenance, production or shipping departments.
- Assisting with inventory needs, conducting safety and quality related audits and training as qualified.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be able to operate a forklift for the maintenance, production, or shipping departments
- Must be able to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Must be able to complete basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide) as well as compute rates and ratios
- Must have ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in variety of situations.
