We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our team in Framingham, Massachusetts. Job Description:
As an entry-level Financial Analyst at EPG, you will be responsible for analyzing and preparing financial data, assisting with ALM modeling, and preparing client reports in the banking and credit union industries. You will also play a key role in supporting the database conversion process, ensuring that data is accurately transferred and reconciled. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in financial modeling, reporting, and data management in a growing, supportive environment.
This role will directly report to the ALM Manager and will work alongside other analysts in the department, providing you with the opportunity to collaborate with experienced professionals and gain insights into ALM modeling, financial analysis, and data management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Data Analysis & ALM Modeling: Analyze and prepare client financial data (loan/deposit records, balance sheets, and income statements) for use in EPG’s ALM modeling software. Categorize financial records, input data into the ALM model, and reconcile with financial statements. Additional steps in the modeling process will be added as proficiency grows.
- Economic Reports Preparation: Prepare weekly economic reports for inclusion in EPG’s ALM presentation packages. Maintain historical data, store data for retention, and update client files each quarter for new analysis. Gather data from sources such as Bloomberg Analytics, FFIEC, and FHLB.
- Quarterly ALM Presentation Packages: Assist in the creation of client-specific ALM presentation packages. Conduct follow-up reviews and analysis to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Client Communication & Data Gathering: Analyze client financial statements for risk modeling and business plan forecasting. Communicate with clients to gather necessary data for accurate modeling and forecasting.
- Database Conversion Support: Assist with the conversion of financial data into a new database, ensuring that data is accurately transferred, reconciled, and tested throughout the process. Work closely with IT teams and database administrators to ensure smooth migration.
- Documentation & Reporting: Document the database conversion process and any issues encountered. Provide regular updates to the team on conversion progress and support the preparation of necessary reports.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of financial principles, accounting practices, and financial statement preparation, although no specific related experience required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify key trends.
- Attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and integrity.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for conveying financial data to clients and team members.
Preferred Skills:
- Internship or work experience involving financial statement preparation, ALM modeling, or banking/credit union financials.
- Experience working with Bloomberg Analytics, FFIEC, and FHLB data sources (preferred but not required).
