Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
This is a flex/PRN position. Under the general direction of the System Director and PIC at Fort Logan Hospital, is responsible for all aspects of dispensing, compounding, labeling, storage, education, and proper usage of pharmaceutical preparations. Provides clinical Pharmacy services per established protocol and policies. Promotes safe and effective use of medication within the Organization. Monitors the patients’ drug therapy to ensure that each medication ordered is safe and appropriate for the patient. Responsible for supervision, training and inspection of all work performed by Technicians and Students.
EQUIPMENT USED/SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
Hospital Pharmacy experience with IV admixture, code response, kinetic dosing, automated dispensing cabinets and computer experience highly recommended.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR EQUIVALENTS:
Education: Must have graduated from an accredited Pharmacy School.
Experience: Must have sufficient experience in all areas of hospital Pharmacy to successfully fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS:
Kentucky Board of Pharmacy License. Certified provider of Basic Life Support (BLS). Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within one (1) year of employment.
