JOB SUMMARY:
The incumbents of this position must be a Generalist with the capability to function effectively in all areas of Human Resources including employment recruiting, interviewing, compensation and benefit administration, EEOC/Affirmative Action Planning, and Associate Relations. The incumbent must be prepared to adapt to a variety of Health Care settings including the Medical Center, Family Medical Centers, Wellness Center, and Assisted Living. The incumbent must also be knowledgeable in the technical aspects of salary compensation including area surveys, position evaluation, and salary range adjustments. The incumbent must represent the Organization in a positive image, interacting with all Associates within the Ephraim McDowell system. This position serves as a positive resource for Associates involved in corrective action and complaint/concern resolution. He/she must be able to initiate and coordinate a variety of Associate activities and services. The incumbents exhibits the F.I.R.S.T. values (Friendliness, Innovation, Respect, Service, and Trust).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
POLICY ADMINISTRATION
- Develops and recommends policies and procedures applicable to Human Resources Management that are consistent with the values and philosophy of the Organization.
- Advises and assists management staff with interpretation and application of Human Resources policies and procedures, legal and contract compliance, Associate complaint/concern resolutions, corrective actions, and termination problems.
- In conjunction with the Occupational Case Coordinator on workers compensation identifying light duty issues, advises the Department Director on matters requiring investigation and documentation.
- Conducts all exit interviews to determine specific reasons for departures and recommends action that may minimize additional turnover.
- Advise Directors of methods to assure maximum efficiency of the Human Resources, including work schedules, development and alternatives to reduce to.
BENEFIT ADMINISTRATION
- Explains benefit plans, costs and procedures, to Associates in group and individual discussion. Advises Associates of benefits options.
- Develops training sessions to explain benefits to Associates.
- Meets with individual Associates to assure benefits are understood and available options are exercised.
- Interfaces with insurance company representatives to address questions/cases as applied.
RECRUITMENT/EMPLOYMENT
- Recruits for all professional positions in the Health Care System.
- Screens applications and resumes for open positions, building a database of candidates for future openings.
- Selects candidates in a professional and timely manner based on Organizational, department, and position needs.
- Manages the transfer of (in-house) applicants from one position to another.
- Works with hiring managers to determine long term needs based on discussions with the Directors of the department and Organization, as a means of succession and strategic planning.
- Visits on a regular basis and provides all Human Resources needs of assigned EMH facilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR EQUIVALENTS:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree preferred with Professional Human Resources (PHR) certification.
Experience:
Minimum 2-3 years human resources experience preferred.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
