JOB SUMMARY:
Under general direction of the Patient Registration System Manager, is responsible for the coordination and work flow duties pertaining to the registration process and Medical Necessity for all patients. Exhibits the F.I.R.S.T. values (Friendliness, Innovation, Respect, Service, and Trust).
CONTACTS WITH OTHERS:
Has contact with patients, family members, support person, significant others, visitors, Associates, Physicians and other healthcare providers.
EQUIPMENT USED/SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
Data entry and calculator skills required. Excellent communication skills a must. Uses personal terminals, copy machine and computer printers.
SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:
The Lead Clerk will be responsible for rotating on-call coverage for Registration in the event that a staff member has an emergency, calls-in for a shift, or an obstacle presents that hinders a patient to be registered.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR EQUIVALENTS:
Education: Associates degree in business, healthcare management, or other related field of study required
Experience: One to two (1-2) years’ experience required, with three to five (3-5) years’ experience preferred. Ability to type accurately and fast. Good communication and written skills.
