Responsibilities:
- Perform various groundskeeping and landscaping tasks, including mowing, edging, and trimming lawns
- Operating wide area type mowers, tractors, hand mowers, power trimmers, and other assorted equipment.
-To perform grounds maintenance, equipment operations and other tasks related to the preparation and maintenance of Borough athletic fields and parks; coordinate and conduct work required to maintain athletic fields at Borough parks
-Facilitate athletic areas in preparation for sporting events and contests, including laying out, line marking, watering, dragging, dressing, and reconditioning and grooming athletic fields, areas, and facilities.
-Use of Infield Groomer, mowers, tractors, hand tools, small hand powered equipment, chalkers, paint line markers and pool equipment.
- Carries out assigned duties as they relate to the general and specific maintenance, construction and development of the areas and facilities as noted above, which includes, but does not limit to: raking and collection of leaves; paper and rubbish; mowing open spaces with hand mowers and riding mowers; athletic field maintenance; and manual labor.
- Operate power tools and hand tools to complete assigned tasks
- Irrigate plants and ensure proper watering schedules are followed
- Assist with landscape maintenance, such as weeding, mulching, and fertilizing
Requirements:
- Previous experience in groundskeeping or landscaping preferred
- Knowledge of landscape maintenance techniques and practices
- Ability to operate power tools and hand tools safely and effectively
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor in various weather conditions
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team
