What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bus Aide (Migrant Head Start) position at EPIC Early Learning?
EPIC Early Learning is currently seeking a reliable and caring Bus Aide to join our team. EPIC is a private, nonprofit organization that has been providing comprehensive early childhood education and support services to children and families in Central Washington for over 45 years. Our mission is to ensure that every child has the opportunity to thrive by delivering high-quality educational and developmental programs.
As a Bus Aide, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe transportation of children to and from our centers. Your responsibilities will include assisting the Bus Driver in maintaining a safe and orderly bus environment, ensuring the well-being of the children during transit, and helping with the implementation of safety protocols. Responsibilities- Ensure that children enter and exit the bus in a safe manner, remain seated while bus is in motion and assure that children are released to listed authorized person(s) in accordance with EPIC policies
- Help children secure seat belts and other safety restraints
- Assure that age appropriate guidance and activities for children are maintained on the bus
- Implement safety protocols and emergency procedures
- Communicate effectively with the Bus Driver and other staff members
- Maintain accurate records of daily route and passenger information
- Assist in the classroom when you are not on the bus
- Follow program policies and procedures
- Attend training sessions and meetings as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Be committed to the culture of safety within our centers, playgrounds, buses, and anywhere that children may be present. Be familiar with and encourage EPIC's culture of "See Something, Say Something".
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- One year experience working with young children
- Valid Washington State Driver's License & Auto insurance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations
- Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a team
Pay Level:
$17.30 to $18.17 Hourly
