EPIC Early Learning is currently seeking dedicated Temporary Classroom Assistant Floaters for our Migrant Head Start program. EPIC is a private, nonprofit organization that has been working closely with children and families to provide early childhood educational services that strengthen our Central Washington communities for over 45 years. As a Temporary Classroom Assistant Floater, you will support multiple classrooms within the Migrant Head Start program. Your role will be to assist teachers in delivering high-quality early childhood education, ensuring that the needs of children are met as they engage in learning activities and play. This position demands flexibility and adaptability as you will be moving between different classrooms and age groups.
Responsibilities- Support teachers in implementing educational activities and daily routines for children
- Assist in setting up and organizing classrooms for various learning experiences
- Monitor and engage with children during playtime and group activities
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children in all settings
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of classrooms and play areas
- Collaborate with classroom staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors
- Be committed to characterizing a culture of safety within our centers, playgrounds, buses and anywhere that children may be present. Be familiar with and encourage EPIC's culture of "See Something, Say Something".
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High School Diploma/GED
- Valid Washington State Driver's License & auto insurance required
- Bilingual (English/ Spanish) preferred.
- Experience working with young children and families
- Knowledge of early childhood development and education principles
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for working with families
- Ability to adapt to a multicultural and diverse environment
Pay Level:
$18.37 to $21.68 Hourly
- 1 hour of sick leave for every 40 hours worked
