Job Summary
The Machine Operator position is responsible for running extrusion equipment and testing product. This position requires attention to detail monitoring daily production and performing spool changes. Must be able to handle and see plastic strands the size of a human hair. Uses a variety of measurement and inspection equipment to document and verify product meets specifications. Uses general hand tools to set up, run, troubleshoot, tear down and clean out extrusion lines. Maintains a clean and safe working environment. Packages and palletizes finished product.
Essential Functions :
1) Must be able to see and handle thread the size of a human hair
2) Read and follow product specification and work procedures to establish appropriate extruder settings and equipment on line setup.
3) Troubleshoot and monitor extrusion line to ensure production adheres to specifications
4) Perform tests of product to confirm products meets customer specification
5) Able to lift up to 55lbs.
6) Respond to alarms and inspect or cut out defects during production.
7) Ensure that all machine set-ups and teardowns are performed efficiently following specific operating procedures, guidelines and instructions. Properly cleaning, protecting and storing all extrusion tooling.
8) Label, package and palletize finished product as specified. Must be able to physically wrap and strap pallets.
9) General housekeeping of extrusion line and production areas keeping plant cleaned, organized, safe and items put away correctly in proper locations.
10) Requires basic computer usage and data entry of test and production results.
11) Requires ability to work in a fast paced environment under deadlines.
12) Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience :
High school diploma/GED required.
Ability to stand on your feet for 8 hours.
Ability to reach overhead, walk, climb, stand, bend, stoop, twisting, lifting, and carrying tooling, packages and materials weighing up to 55lbs.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
