Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Food Preparation Worker to join our culinary team in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a commitment to speedy service. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for supporting our chefs and cooks in the preparation and service of high quality dishes. As well, you will ensure high standards of cleanliness are upheld by cleaning dishes and serviceware through-out the day.
Responsibilities
-Assist the grill cook in food production and delivery to the customer during peak hours, ensuring that service times are kept appropriate
-Clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen serviceware adhering to proper sanitation standards
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes and menu items
- Assist with food ordering and inventory management
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety guidelines while ensuring inventory and orders are properly stocked and put away
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding to guest requests and ensuring that all dishes are presented in a visually appealing manner
- Ensure that all food handling and preparation practices are in line with our commitment to food safety
- Support other kitchen staff members as needed
Skills
- Strong knowledge of food preparation and food handling practices
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools
- Experience working in a restaurant or dietary department
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to exceptional customer service
- Strong understanding of food safety practices
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and support other kitchen staff members
- Willingness to help with other tasks as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
