What are the responsibilities and job description for the Active Living Manager position at Episcopal Homes of Minnesota?
The Active Living Manager is responsible for overseeing and enhancing the wellness programming across the Episcopal Homes campus, while also supporting the administrative needs of the Active Living department. This 24-hour/week role will be integral in fostering a holistic and engaging environment of wellness that supports the physical, mental and social well-being of our residents. The ideal candidate will bring experience with senior fitness, wellness, and community engagement to develop and oversee high-quality programs, manage contracted fitness staff, and ensure that all wellness offerings align with the needs and interests of our diverse resident population.
Wage: $23-25 hourly
Schedule: part time. during regular business hours.
May require occasional evening or weekend availability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Program planning
- Plan a wide variety of wellness programming for residents
- Partner with other internal departments to combine resources and programming ideas (Creative Ventures, Spiritual Life, Service Coordinators, Volunteers)
Oversight
- Point person for scheduling of and communication with contracted fitness instructors.
- Communicate any class or location changes to our community.
Orientation
- Manage and oversee all new resident fitness center/pool orientations.
- Meeting new residents for assessments, goals planning and follow up.
Communications/Administrative
- Manage all communications with residents and outside community members as it relates to our programs, pool and fitness center.
- Maintain and update the Active Living monthly calendar and weekly pool calendar.
- Administer ongoing Quality of Life and Customer Satisfaction surveys
Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor's degree in a health-related field (human services, health administration, sports science, athletic training)
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in health or fitness programming. This could include personal training or group exercise.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Canva preferred
Preferred qualifications:
- Work or volunteer experience working with the senior population.
- Able to serve as a substitute group exercise instructor if necessary.
