What are the responsibilities and job description for the Equine Veterinary Technician/Assistant position at Equine Farm?
Lexington, KY based sport horse and lameness practice looking for a full-time experienced veterinary technician/assistant (5-6 days per week). We make monthly trips to Texas and Arizona (5 day trips). We also travel to OH and TN (1-2 day trips) and many of the larger NRHA horse shows in OK, AZ, TX, OH and NV (5-12 day trips). We are looking for a polished, reliable, detail-oriented, and organized veterinary assistant with the ability to multitask. Duties include but are not limited to:
Stocking truck
Jogging horses for lameness exams
Scrub and prep horse for procedures
Assist with taking x-rays
Set-up and clean-up for calls
Horse handling and restraint
Completing tickets based on what medications/treatments the veterinarian administered/performed, Gathering client information for tickets
Driving veterinary vehicle - must have a valid US driver’s license
Packing/unpacking veterinary equipment
Must have computer skills
Assisting at facility as needed
Other tasks as assigned
Horse experience is necessary
Travel expenses are covered (flights, food and accommodations).
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Mid October - beginning of April we are Florida based (Housing provided in FL).

Pay: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
