Location: Lawrence, PA
Job Summary: The Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling, testing, troubleshooting and quality-checking mechanical components of skid-mounted systems. This involves working in a manufacturing or workshop environment using fork trucks, manlifts, cranes and industrial equipment. The technician will work closely with the production team to ensure each skid is built to design specifications and industry standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assemble various components, including pumps, piping, valves, instruments and structural elements, onto skid platforms according to technical drawings and engineering specifications
- Verify completed assemblies conform with quality and safety standards per drawings and specifications
- Identify and report any non-conforming materials or components and take corrective action in coordination with project managers and other Skid Tech team members
- Perform system checks and pressure tests on skids to ensure leak-proof operation and adherence to operational parameters
- Operate industrial equipment including forklifts, cranes, hoists and hydraulic jacks
- Maintain accurate records of completed work, inspections and tests
- Provide feedback to project managers to improve processes and reduce potential points of failure
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline assembly processes and improve efficiency
The Ideal Candidate:
- Possesses a high school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred
- Has a minimum of 2 years’ experience in mechanical or electrical assembly; experience with skid or modular systems is a plus
- Understands blueprints, schematics and piping and instrumentation diagrams
- Is proficient with hand tools, power tools and testing equipment
- Has basic knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and/or electrical systems
- Maintain a familiarity with quality and safety standards, such as ISO and OSHA
- Has strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as a team
- Can handle heavy equipment, and lift up to 50 lbs.
