How You’ll Contribute:
As the Vice President, Investments (Private Markets), you will lead and manage the Investments team to achieve company-wide strategic goals and business objectives. You will serve as an advisor, coach, and mentor while working collaboratively across departments to implement investment strategies. This role focuses on managing a portfolio of esoteric and private asset-backed securities (ABS), structuring complex financial transactions, and providing deep analytical insights to support investment decisions.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead a team of investment professionals, overseeing performance management, hiring, and employee development.
- Develop and implement private markets investment strategies, including portfolio rebalancing and identifying new opportunities.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis, cash flow modeling, and scenario assessments for structured products.
- Assess credit risks and prepare investment memos detailing transaction merits and risk/return profiles.
- Present investment recommendations to senior leadership and the investment team.
- Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis on asset classes and portfolio performance.
- Coordinate research efforts and develop financial models and databases.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including rating agencies and regulatory bodies.
- Support company-wide strategic initiatives by collaborating with cross-functional teams
What You’ll Bring:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Master’s degree preferred
Experience:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in principal investing or investment banking.
- Experience in a regulated environment, preferably within life insurance, is highly valued
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Bloomberg.
- Strong financial modeling, portfolio strategy, and risk analysis expertise.
- Knowledge of Aladdin, Intex, or programming languages such as VBA, SQL, or Python is a plus.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
- Strong communication and leadership capabilities.
- High attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods and use hands for fine manipulation.
- Occasional walking, standing, and reaching

Compensation and Pay Philosophy:
The pay range for this role is $156,000.00-$214,500.00. This reflects the expected compensation for the position at the time of posting. The final offer will be based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, qualifications, geographic location, and internal equity, and may be higher or lower than the posted range. The pay range is subject to change in the future in accordance with applicable laws. EquiTrust is committed to fair and competitive compensation that considers individual and organizational needs.
