Position: Medical Assistant (Must be Certified)

Location: Sebastian, FL 32958

Duration: 9 Month contract to start, potential of extension and/or conversion to FTE.

Rate: $23/Hr

Start Date: ASAP


Specific Duties:

Positions in this function assist in the care of the patient by following through on Provider orders for treatments. Individuals may be responsible for taking the patients vital signs, conducting blood draws or take x-rays as certified. Individuals in this function typically have certification or are working towards their certification as a Medical Assistant or.... May also be responsible for overseeing and participating in day to day clinical care of patients. Employees are involved in direct patient care (in a clinic, in-home care, etc.)

Job Scope and Guidelines:

- Applies knowledge/skills to basic, repeated activities.

- Demonstrates minimum depth of knowledge and skills in own function.

- Responds to standard requests.

- Requires assistance in responding to non-standard requests.

- Solves routine problems by following established procedures.

- Others prioritize and set deadlines for employee.

- Works with others as part of a team.

-Collect pertinent patient data (e.g., vital signs; complaints; medications and allergies; health screening information) in order to identify care needs

-Provide relevant medical services/care as directed by physicians (e.g., injections; procedures; treatments)

-Support and/or coordinate safe transportation of patients to and from medical appointments/facilities (e.g., drive patients; ensure equipment operation; monitor performance; schedule transportation)

-Screen/assess risks to patient care/functioning (e.g., lack of heat in home; malnutrition; environmental risks; psychosocial symptoms/issues) in order to identify potential needed services

-Provide necessary equipment and supplies to support patient care (e.g., DMEs; Accu Cheks; testing strips; DM Shoes)

-Coordinate and/or conduct pre-visit and/or follow-up preparations to help patients receive comprehensive preventative care (e.g., step calls)

-Address patient questions regarding clinical services/care (e.g., seek information from relevant colleagues/business partners to answer questions; provide resources; distribute surveys to patients to gather information)

CSO_Demonstrate Knowledge of Relevant Processes, Procedures, and Regulations B) Developing

-Demonstrate understanding of relevant medical procedures (e.g., how to assess patient vital signs; how to analyze EKG tracing)

-Demonstrate understanding of medical terminology, precautions, and exposure risks (e.g., bloodborne pathogens)

-Demonstrate understanding of relevant patient safety and/or transportation safety procedures and regulations (e.g., injections; motor vehicle; wheelchair; stretcher)

-Monitor/ensure compliance with relevant patient safety and/or transportation safety procedures and regulations (e.g., patient; laboratory; transportation)

-Demonstrate understanding of relevant state and/or federal policies, regulations (e.g., HIPAA), and scope of practice

-Demonstrate understanding of internal company/department-specific protocols, procedures, policies, and workflows

-Demonstrate fundamental knowledge of various relevant insurance programs/products


Must have qualifications/experience:

Medical assistant must be certified in Florida

1 to years medical assistant

Experience in lab area and with Medication

Excellent clinical skills and Documentation


Start & end times of shift: 8 to 5

Days of the week they'll work:Monday thru Friday

Dress code: Scrubs

Scrub color: Teal and charcoal gray
