THE OPPORTUNITY:
We are looking for an HR Generalist to join our team and help us provide outstanding service to our internal customers - our team members!
This is a full-time, in-office position, salary (exempt), M-F 8am-5pm, with additional hours as business needs require.
The HR Generalist will report directly to the Chief People Officer (CPO), and collaborate closely with our entire HR & Team Member Engagement Department. The HR Generalist will provide support to our team members in all ER2 locations - AZ, CA, FL, IA, TN, and TX (150 team members and growing). This exceptional individual will be an advocate for both the company and our team members, acting as a bridge between the team and leadership while fostering a positive work environment and ensuring organizational goals are met.
We're looking for someone with mid-level experience (3-5 years as an HR Generalist), who is passionate about people, processes, and organizational success. We want someone who is ready and excited to support our amazing, growing, hard-working team!
The HR Generalist will be taking on a wide range of HR tasks, such as: recruiting, administering employee benefits and leaves, crafting and refining HR policies, supporting in training and onboarding, assisting with performance management programs and team member development, etc. This person will also prepare HR reports, handle HR documentation, including managing employee records, and will serve as a main point of contact for team members’ queries on HR-related topics.

THE DAY TO DAY:
Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Assist in developing job descriptions and job postings.
- Source and screen candidates through job boards, social media, and networking **proven experience & success in this area required
- Conduct interviews and assist in the selection process.
- Coordinate the onboarding process for new hires, including orientation, training, and paperwork.
Offboarding:
- Complete offboarding tasks, including conducting exit interviews, preparing paperwork and required documentation/notices
Team Member Relations:
- Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace.
- Address team member concerns and provide conflict resolution support.
- Foster a positive workplace culture through communication and problem-solving.
- Maintain an open-door policy for team members to voice concerns.
- Handle disciplinary actions and provide guidance on performance improvement plans.
Performance Management:
- Support the performance review process, ensuring evaluations are completed on time.
- Advise leaders on setting clear performance goals and expectations.
- Assist in managing performance improvement processes and team member development programs.
Compliance and Legal Requirements:
- Ensure company policies and practices comply with federal, state, and local labor laws.
- Maintain team member records in accordance with legal requirements.
- Help to maintain and update human resources documents, such as employee handbooks, written policies, directories, and new hire resources
- Stay updated on HR laws and regulations to minimize legal risks.
Training and Development:
- Coordinate and/or facilitate team member training programs to enhance skills and ensure compliance.
- Identify training needs within the organization.
- Monitor training effectiveness and suggest improvements.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Assist in the administration of team member benefits programs, including health insurance, leaves, retirement plans, and paid time off.
- Administer payroll-related matters, including time-off tracking and employee reimbursements.
- Provide support with compensation analysis and salary benchmarking.
HR Reporting and Administration:
- Prepare and maintain HR reports, including time-to-hire, turnover, headcount, and other HR metrics.
- Handle HR documentation, including employee records.
- Help to maintain employment records related to events, such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions, using human resources management system software
- Ensure smooth day-to-day HR operations and assist in audits when required.
Health and Safety:
- Support the development and implementation of workplace health and wellness, and safety programs.
Culture and Engagement:
- Promote team member engagement initiatives and retention programs.
- Organize and participate in team member engagement activities, such as team-building events and recognition programs.
Team Member Support:
- Distribute resources and post important communications via Team Site
- Interpret and explain to team members - human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations
- Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly and identifying new perks and benefits to offer
Leadership Support:
- With the help of the CPO, research and provide leadership with information or training related to retention, conflict resolution, performance management, coaching techniques, or documentation of performance issues
- Consult with leadership to suggest personnel policies or procedures missing but needed
Other HR Department Support:
- Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of our current communication methods, and identify and trial-run new methods
- Identify areas of improvement for the HR & Engagement Department
- Assist with managing department costs
- Support other administrative staff and leaders with misc. requests
- Utilize technology in the workplace to communicate, create and execute - Gmail, Google Calendar, our internal team site, Google Slides, BambooHR (HRIS), and project management software (Asana)
THE VITALS:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Proven experience as an HR Generalist (3 years required)
- Proven experience in recruitment/talent acquisition (minimum 2 years experience)
- Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
- Strong knowledge of employment/labor laws & where to find the most up to date info
- Proven experience navigating federal and state employment laws
- Proficient with HR software (HRIS), Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite and related tools.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Aptitude in problem-solving
- Desire to work as a team with a results driven approach
- Additional HR training/certification is a plus
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to sit or stand for consecutive hours
- Ability to work and look at a computer screen for extended hours per day
- Consistent and verifiable work history
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- The ability to speak, read and write English fluently
- Must complete a drug screening and background check before hire
