What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chief Highway Inspector position at Erdman Anthony?
An experienced NICET IV certified Chief Highway Inspector is needed for the NYSDOT Region 4, I-490 Bridge Replacements (BIN 4443429 & BIN 1048989) over the Erie Canal and Kreag Road in the Town of Perinton, New York. This is anticipated to be a large project with a construction cost estimated to exceed $30 million. Work is to begin immediately and complete in the fall of 2026.
We are offering a $3,000 Sign On Bonus for this position!
Responsibilities
- Oversee contractors' work to ensure conformance to contract documents
- Supervise work of other inspectors
- Address field and design changes as necessary
- Prepare daily work reports documenting completed work for payment to contractor
Requirements
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Must have a minimum of 20 years of NYSDOT construction inspection experience on highways.
- Efficient with the use of Site Manager.
- Provide a detailed resume highlighting your highway experience and a minimum of two client references.
