Ergon Asphalt and Emulsion Inc. seeks a full-time Production Supervisor to join our Ergon Armor Division in Memphis, Tennessee. The Production Supervisor is a first-line management position responsible for directly supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in the manufacture of finished products.
Production Supervisor Job Education & Qualifications:
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least three years of experience in management role
- Possess basic mathematics skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Possess good time management skills to meet production deadlines
- Knowledge of business and human resource management principles involved in leadership techniques and coordination of people and resources
- Proficient with computers and computer software, including Microsoft Office products
- Knowledge of management information systems for enterprise resource planning and experience with the SAP system
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, shipping and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
- Possess knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and how these requirements apply to the manufacturing operation
- Possess good organizational skills
- Capable of becoming fork truck certified
Production Supervisor Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead by example and be proactive in communication and people management
- Drive all tasks through to completion and embody the ErgonArmor mission, vision and values
- Direct and supervise Lead Operators, Production Operators and Utility Operators engaged in producing finished products
- Conduct employee evaluations
- Responsible for reviewing open order reports and directing/scheduling the manufacture of products
- Monitor work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals
- Observe work and monitor equipment to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards
- Enforce safe work practices with assigned employees
- Perform various work area inspections to assure a safe working environment and equipment readiness
- Initiate work orders for work area/equipment abnormalities
- Provide input for the development of operating procedures and safety programs
- Enforce good housekeeping practices with assigned employees and applicable plant areas
