Overview:
- This is a remote position and can be located in any of the following states: NY, NJ, PA, DE, MD, D.C., WV, or VA.
- Lead support and field technical efforts for all specialty products.
- Work with the Regional Vice President, Technical Marketing Managers and Area Sales Managers to position specialty products for maximum growth.
- Work with potential customers to educate them on product lines and use.
- Assist the Area Sales Managers in providing technical expertise and sales support for products.
- Assist the formulations, quality management, operations managers, and process managers/tech services leader on formulations, optimizations and timing for project targets and goals.
- Work with materials suppliers to bring ideas to the formulations and Paragon group to improve products or create new products.
- Work with outside labs and universities to ensure product quality and specification compliance on mixture performance criteria for all products.
- Work with the Regional Vice President to ensure we are optimizing time and attendance on overlapping Industry functions that are technical and specialty product driven.
- Train internal and external customers and coworkers on performance criteria and its impact on our business strategy.
Interfaces:
- Position will report to either to the Regional Vice President or the Regional Technical Marketing Manager
- Direct reports - N/A at this time.
- Position will interface with (internal and external)
- Internal - Marketing, technical operations, operations, Paragon, technical coworkers, and upper management
- External - Owner agencies, consulting engineers, contractors, suppliers of materials for products, universities, and industry associations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with Quality Management of Specialty products and production.
- Work in conjunction with Paragon to grow our portfolio and optimize products, lead efforts in asphalt mixtures.
- Work with Area Sales Managers to cover needs for specialty product promotion and support.
- Work with the Communications group and lead efforts in assisting with development of specialty product promotional products.
- Booth graphics
- Brochures
- Magazine ads
- Technical documents for products
- Utilize relationships and capitalize on opportunities in our local markets to promote specialty products and/or all products.
- Provide field support for all products.
- Work with Business leaders to ensure opportunities for conference attendance and promotional opportunities are connected to the sales strategy and maximize and balance short term and long-term growth.
- Lead efforts with Business development leader on licensing and branding specialty products.
Qualifications:
- BS in Civil Engineering or equivalent technical background.
- Ability to speak in public.
- Ability to relate to all customers on a technical basis - owner agencies, consulting engineers and contractors.
- Well-established favorable industry reputation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and able to bend, stoop and kneel as needed.
- Able to wear proper PPE when required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Requires working in office conditions, performing some clerical work, working periodically outside in a manufacturing plant environment, with and around operational process equipment in temperature extremes for periods of time.
- Able to work around asphalt and other related chemicals on an ongoing basis.
- Able to provide job site and field support of projects.
- Able and willing to travel for business needs. The travel expectation for this position is 2 nights on average per week.
